Re: Pandora - A Spud's Customs project
Hey guys, sorry its been so long since I've been on (I've hardly been on Naviblue much either) but I've been really busy finishing up my last semester of college. So come this Summer after I start my new job I'll have a lot more free time on my hands since I won't have to deal with homework anymore. And that means plenty of time to work on my custom figures and dioramas. I've done quite a bit of work on my Iknimaya diorama but I haven't gotten to work on it in over 3 months probably. But once I start on things I'll start posting updates on here more often. :D

Re: Pandora - A Spud's Customs project
Haha thanks guys. I currently have 7 male Na'vi warriors/hunters and 6 female Na'vi characters. I also have two more males in progress and last night I started on Mo'at. o_O She is already starting to look awesome. I had to do extensive gel medium facial reconstruction to make Neytiri look more like Mo'at and it worked beautifully.
After I finish Mo'at I have three other Neytiri figures I plan to convert to customized characters, so when its all said and done I should have the same number of Males and Females in my clan of 18 plus main characters. :)
Soon I will be getting a few pictures together of all the characters with their respective names inserted above them in the picture. And yes they all have names. haha

Thanks Prowler. :)
I've been working on Mo'at for the past couple of hours and she's coming along nicely. I got all her striping painted on and I've started developing the beginnings of her beaded shall. It's going to be tough but it should work out.

Alright maybe that was a bit cruel to tease you guys like that, so how's this....
So I've got one side done and I'm looking forward to getting the other side finished so I can get started on her hair which will be another great undertaking. Hope you guys like the pics. I'll keep posting updates. :)

Re: Pandora - A Spud's Customs project
Wow Spud shes looking great, thank you for the pictures. I enjoy the work in progress pics as much as the final product because there's so much we don't see that goes in to these little 4" figures. It's funny seeing your finger in the one picture because it shows just how tiny the figures are, yet they have so much detail.
Who ever carries the toy line for Avatar 2&3 should employ you as a designer. While I realize a mass produced toy will never have the hand made quality and detail of your figs, they could be improved upon so much from our original Mattel figs.

Re: Pandora - A Spud's Customs project
Thanks man, yeah I'm pretty pleased with her so far. I'm excited to finally get to create this figure since I've wanted to ever since I started this over 3 years ago. I also need to finish up Eytukan so I can recreate this picture with complete accuracy.
Yet there's still the ceremony Neytiri that I have to finish as well. I started her a long time ago and didn't get very far because I got distracted with creating "the clan." :)
