Re: The Sky!
not really, we did have a small skiff of snow Wed. night from a snow shower, Sunday there is a chance for some light snow for us though. Yea sometimes that arctic air gets "too strong" and pushes the storm track further and further south, glad you didn't get any of the ice too man, that stuff is nasty.
Right now it is, (as a Chemistry teacher that I had back in high school used to say) colder than a mother in-laws kiss, lol 16F

^ Irayo man, yea we did get a couple of inches this past Sunday, and Monday it only got up to 11F! but yes we have melted most of it now, as it got to near 40 and now we are having some drizzle that may become light snow or freezing drizzle tonight. here are some pics and a story that I thought was freaky(I guess even the desert can't escape winter this year)

Re: The Sky!
Well we had another winter storm yesterday, started out as light freezing rain and sleet, then changed to heavy sleet, which changed to heavy snow, and we ended up with 7 inches of snow!! Ihope you didn't get too much ice down your way Drew, been hearing that the ice had caused some issues down your way, was talking to to an avatar tsmukan up in Canada last night and I think he was getting ready to lose power from the ice.
Well at least we will have a white Christmas here this year.

We had that snow through Christmas, but then it melted(mostly) last weekend we were 50F the day before yesterday, then we had about 2to three inches of snow yesterday withs temps in the teens, lol, now it is just cold 12F, and they are saying early next week could be a very bad cold out break, they are saying we may have highs close to 0 Monday!!!! Thats ridiculous, def. not loincloth weather,

^Tewti! :O
Our winter here so far is definitely more mild... It surely rained a lot and very dangerously around Europe, but as for cold, it really never has been that cold yet, but I reckon it could do the next weeks, February usually has the coldest times I think.
Keep warm bro :D

Re: The Sky!
There's like the worse weather ever here... There was a small tornado here yesterday night. I was woken up and I was worried the hail would smash the windows, and the tree outside was like... I have never seen that tree move like it did, it was insane.
And the rain hasn't ceased for hours, we are lucky to live in a slightly higher part, some villages are under 4 feet of water...

Re: The Sky!
WOW, that sounds like a severe storm!!!!! Glad you are safe tsmukan, sorry to hear about all of the flooding, hope it calms down for you soon, yea I know the feeling of wondering if you should get away from the windows at night due to hail.
Here is a pic of some "Na'vi stripe" clouds from last Sunday before we had a wind storm hit...

Yeah bro! Well yeah I don't know the technical terms, maybe Wind would know :D But like... Here we call it una tromba d'aria, 'twister' kind of translation. Usually they only come on the ocean nearby, but apparently a small one went through here, because man, I ain't never see that kind of hell and noise out my window.

Re: The Sky!
Sounds like it could have been a small tornado along with a severe thunderstorm, it " could" have also been what we call a "microburst" which can do tornado like damage by uprooting trees ect. with the hail coming down at the same time of the high winds, that sounds like it could have been that, as a microburst is where part of a thunderstorm collapses and strong winds and precipitation slam into the ground in a localized area, but it also could have been a small " rain wrapped" tornado as well.
Well we had a more peaceful variety of storm last night...

Re: The Sky!
^Wow dude! That's what I'm talking about, the real deal of the weather man :nwar:
Yeah indeed sounds right, ight have been the rain wrapped genre you desribed, as it's been raining so hard and for So long.
Matter of fact, it's still raining, incredible. The sky is completely covered, no sign of stopping. But you know, I have been outside sitting under a tree in the rain, and it was a great atmosphere, somehow the rain can embrace you...
Wow man that snow! <3 <3 <3

Re: The Sky!
Sounds like we have been having much of the same weather as you Nick. Its been so cold for so long it feels like. Snowed yesterday although it was maybe an inch or so. I enjoyed your pictures my friend, especially that first one where the snow is still untouched, always looks so beautiful like that. I am looking forward to these warmer temperatures in the coming days!

Re: The Sky!
Irayo tsmukan! yes it has been cold around here for a long time, tomorrow will be our 12 th day in a row below 32! and even the south isn't getting away from it, but yes, it looks like a nice warming trend is on the way for our area though, I heard from some European Avatar aysmukan that parts of Europe are having no winter this year, while we are freezing, lol
Yes, fresh snow is the best, now comes the slush, lol.
